THE
WINNING WORD – FEBRUARY 2014
LOVE
NEVER FAILS!
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV)
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.
I’ve heard this read at many weddings. I have even had the honor of reading it
majestically, and eloquently at a couple of them, LOL! But reading it doesn’t prevent the
divorce. It’s doing it that’s the
challenge.
Like ALL Scriptures, these verses have the potential
to deliver what it promises. This
passage of Scripture can bring about successful marriages, restore broken homes
and heal wounded hearts. However, it cannot be done in the energy of the
flesh. In fact, it’s impossible for a
human being to fulfill the demands of this kind of love without Divine
Intervention.
Too often, what people think is Love is really Lust
disguised. Lust can look and even feel
like Love in the beginning. Lust may
even get an excited couple all the way to the altar. But when the storms of
life hit, Lust will run out on you every time.
In his awesome book, Love the way to Victory,
the late Kenneth E. Hagin tells of a couple who were set on getting
divorced. He and his wife begged them to
come over for dinner before finalizing their decision. They agreed.
After dinner, he shared with them the above Scripture and asked them to
read it out loud together every night before going to bed and every morning
when they arise.
Before the week ended, they had reconciled and all divorce plans canceled.
What happened? John 6:63 is what happened!…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
The Word of
God is not just some ancient book. It is
a supernatural book that holds the
secret to man’s “good” success in all areas of life when the instructions are
followed.
Joshua 1:8 (NLT)
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
It also must
be interpreted by an anointed man or woman of God. When you come in contact with an anointed
interpreter, your life goes to unimaginable heights!
They followed the instructions Mr. Hagin gave them
and as a result the spirit of The
Word entered their hearts and healing took place.
So, whether you are happily married, joyfully single
or desiring a restoration of a broken life in any way, MEDITATE on 1 Corinthians
13:4-8 daily. It will heal your
heart, transform your mind and love will enter in. It did it for me. It can do the same for you.
LOVE
NEVER FAILS!
